Beauxbatons Academy of Magic has a history that dates back about 700 years. It’s rather a new school, compared to Hogwarts. The school is an active participant in the Triwizard Tournament.
The Current Headmistress of the school is Mademoiselle Adrianna Devoroux. She took over the school when Olympe Maxime died. She is a kind headmistress and she deals with the school’s activities with grace and poise.
The four houses of Beauxbatons are those similar to Hogwarts. There are four choices in which you are to be placed under, and they each have their own brief history. The four houses are: Loyauté, Rusé, Soin, and Esprits.
Loyauté: The students of Loyauté are brave, loyal, and have excellent of chivalry. They are most like the students of Gryffindor. The house was founder by none other than Leverett Loyauté, a very famous, old wizard. He was known for his excellent, impeccable bravery and his chivalry. He died after about 30 years in his foundment. He was very loyal to his friends and loved to help them.
Rusé: The Students of Rusé are mostly sly, witty, and cunning. They are highly ambitious and enjoy making fun of people. They are not very nice, but they make true and real friends. They will, however, use their friends for their own success. They think that getting to power is the best thing. Renaud Rusé was a famous, elderly wizard that founded the house. He believed that the purest of bloods would be accepted in Rusé. The problem was, most dark witches and wizards come out of Rusé.
Soin: Scarlett Soin believed that the most caring and just would be in her house. She was just like them. She believed the way to get through life was to be patient and kind. She was caring to all and patient to many. If you are put in this house, you shall be very well off indeed. The Soins don’t believe in using people or attacking… they believe that peace and discussing things are the way to solve problems.
Esprits: Eleanor Esprits was the wisest of them all. She was quick and witty and very kind. She founded this house, hoping to give smart and well-rounded children a place to stay while they were learning. The Esprits were the ones who always were smart, quick minded, and witty. They never believed in using people or gaining power.
Beauxbatons students follow a strict system of protocol concerning their behaviour towards their professors, which is noticeably different from that at Hogwarts, for example, standing when their headmistress enters the room. The school follows a different examination system as well: at Hogwarts, major board exams are taken in the fifth and seventh years, while Beauxbatons students sit for their exams in the sixth year.
